Dr. Kalia is the Director of Strategic Development and Outreach – Center for Liver Disease and Transplantation at Northwell Health. Dr. Kalia is a Transplant Hepatologist received his medical education at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, and then took four years of Internal Medicine Residency, the first three at UMDNJ in Newark and the next as a Chief Resident at the East Orange VA. He completed a Transplant Hepatology Fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, and Gastroenterology Fellowship at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, Newark NJ. From 2009-2019 was at Montefiore Medical center. He is a clinical Associate Professor of Medicine and joined the NYU Transplant Institute in August ‘19 and continues to take care of patients with Liver diseases. Dr. Kalia’s clinical and research interests include NAFLD, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Autoimmune Hepatitis, complications of end stage liver disease and liver transplantation.
